AT&T announced Wednesday that it will be expanding its 3G network to more than 80 additional cities during 2008.
After the expansion AT&T will be serving 3G services to over 350 cities across the U.S. including all of the top 100 U.S. cities.
The 3G initiative will include the roll out of more than 1,500 additional cell sites nation wide.
Apple and AT&T have both spoke of the 3G iPhone which is likely to see its release in 2008.

OS X 10.5.2 Work Continues
Apple has once again released another build of Mac OS X 10.5.2 to developers.
Build 9C30 once again lists “no known issues” with Time Machine remaining one of the key areas of testing as well as audio input, Back To My Mac, Bluetooth, Safari, and graphics drivers.
iPhone US Smartphone Share Rises to 28 Percent
According to a report by market research firm Canalys, Apple has managed to garner approximately 28 percent of the US smartphone market during the fourth calendar quarter of 2007.
According to the report iPhone’s 28 percent share placed it second in the US market behind only RIM’s with 41 percent share.
“When you consider that it launched part way through the year, with limited operator and country coverage, and essentially just one product, Apple has shown very clearly that it can make a difference and has sent a wakeup call to the market leaders,” said senior analyst Pete Cunningham. “What it must demonstrate now is that it can build a sustainable business in the converged device space, expanding its coverage and product portfolio.
During January’s Macworld Expo, Steve Jobs announced during his keynote that Apple had won 19.5% of the smartphone market during the 3rd quarter of 2007.

Apple has today added new models of the iPhone and iPod touch, doubling there storage capacities.
The new 16GB iPhone is available to purchase for $499 (£329) and the 32GB iPod touch is also available for $499 (£329) with the 16GB and 8GB remaining at $399 and $299, respectively.
“For some users, there’s never enough memory,†said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPod and iPhone Product Marketing. “Now people can enjoy even more of their music, photos and videos on the most revolutionary mobile phone and best Wi-Fi mobile device in the world.â€
Although Mac OS X 10.5.2 has been expected any day it appears that Apple has continued the bug squashing process. Apple has very recently seeded another build of Mac OS X 10.5.2 to developers, and as with the previous build Mac OS X 10.5.2 build 9C27 is reportedly free of known issues.
The build now reportedly features over 130 improvements and bug fixes with the latest round focusing on the Finder sidebar, desktop backgrounds, iChats bluetooth functionality, Time Machine and disk space management.
As with previous builds Apple has asked developers to focus on key areas; Audio Input, Bluetooth, the Finder, Graphics Drivers and Spotlight.
